Random Post 2
One thing I noticed when I was in college is that everyone has a certain "phrase" that they use frequently. One of my best friends in college (we'll call him Chet Hanks for the duration of this random post, for anonymous reasons), has a very high tendency of saying "Bruh. Bro. Bro. Bro. Bro." in a nonchalant, yet very staccato way. As his friend, I was never aware of him saying that until one of my other boys (some random G). brought it up After noticing, I felt like it was a very funny thing to do, and it made hanging out with Chet more fun (the dopamine hit). As a close friends of his, we also started say "Bro. Bro BRUHH Bro" to mess with him in good light, and it strengthened our bromance (he also put this friendly bromance thing called a "restraining order" on me).
Jokes aside, I learned that I also have certain phrases that I use a lot in my day to day life, and it is a natural way of expressing myself. Since everyone is from different backgrounds, we should be more accepting of learning and understanding everyone's word choice. As a fellow youngling, I can also say that the effect of social media and heavy dosage of brainrot also does play a big factor (at least we don't say "swag" like the millenials smh), and that life is too short to try and be someone else (maybe this is why I keep getting rejections from interviews).
Although this is a very weird topic, I want to emphasize that everyone has their own vocabulary and that is what makes them unique. No one has a weird vocabulary, and that everyone should embrace their own way of stating things. I want to illiterate that this is not a non-bullying post, TedTalk, or anything that serious, I just felt like yapping in this random post. So next time if you friend orders you a yappucino, make mess around with them in a friendly way and mock their "phrases" (I am not liable for any repercussions), and enjoy life a little bit more. Thank you for reading my ADHD post my fellow goats.
Very insightful, very true, very fair. It's always fun being the one who brings a new vocab word to the friend group and watching it catch on. It also may ne bias, but I do think this generation beats all the others, except maybe the 70's they had some groovy phrases
ReplyDeleteThis post was hilarious but also surprisingly thoughtful. You made a great point about how everyone has their own unique way of speaking, and it’s often those little quirks that make friendships more fun and personal. It’s refreshing to see someone embrace individuality with humor while reminding us not to take ourselves too seriously. Thanks for the laughs and the insight!
ReplyDeleteHi Richard, I feel this is one of the funniest psots Ive read in a while. This post honestly made me feel so relatable and real. I like how you found humor in every other sentence and turned it into something deeper about acceptance and self-expression. It felt like a genuine conversation from you and really not just done for the assignment sake. Too good
ReplyDeleteThis was a very fun read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I love my friends vocabulary, as it makes for some very funny moments.
ReplyDeleteHi Richard, this was a very funny read. It is very interesting to think that each person has their own phrases and thats what makes each other unique.

ReplyDeleteRichard, this post was so funny, and I relate to it so much! My friends and I have the most niche vocabulary drawn from the depths of the internet and Gen Z pop culture, and I love being the person to unearth new words/phrases/sayings to add to our list. It’s exquisite!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun and relatable read! I enjoyed it very much, making me think of the weird phrases my friends and I always say.
